The Carinity Brownesholme community has celebrated a special milestone!
The 30th anniversary of the opening of Brownesholme retirement village was celebrated on 29 August with a gathering of residents, family members, friends, and invited guests.

Before she passed away in 1985, Isobel 'Molly' Browne bequeathed her 120-acre property to the Baptist Union of Queensland, to be developed into a retirement village and aged care home.
Ten years after Molly's passing, our purpose-built Brownesholme residential lifestyle community for retirees opened in mid-1995 with Gloria Phillips the first resident.
In recognition of Molly's selfless gesture to support seniors in the Highfields district, a special sign designed by Brownesholme resident Eunice Brumpton was revealed at the 30-year celebration.
The sign was unveiled by Carinity CEO, Kevin Griffiths, and Toowoomba Region Councillor, Kerry Shine, who officially opened new stages of the retirement village more than 20 years ago.
The artwork depicts Molly Browne on her farm with elements including a cow and the windmill from her property, which still stands on the Brownesholme retirement village site.
