construction building work

The NSW Government has extended construction hours across weekends as part of its COVID-19 response and recovery measures.

In response to the Omicron outbreak, the NSW Minister for Planning has issued an Order allowing construction work on weekends until the 31 March 2022.

The order allows construction work on a:

  • Saturday: 8am to 5pm with restrictions on noisy works (i.e. no blasting, rock drilling etc)
  • Sunday: 9am to 5pm with restrictions on noisy works (i.e. no blasting, rock drilling etc. and noise must not exceed 5 dB)

The extension is part of the NSW Government's efforts to support the State's economic recovery, protect the health and safety of the community and ensure businesses are able to adapt and respond to changing needs.

The State Government also granted an extension to 31 March for other measures such as allowing retail premises, including supermarkets, to receive deliveries 24 hours a day.
