Burglary and assault charges in Murarrie, QLD

Two people have been charged following a burglary with assault which occurred in Murarrie yesterday afternoon., Queensland Police say

Around 2.20pm, it will be alleged a man and a women entered a Northcliffe Street address without permission and made claims to the residents that they being chased.

An 81-year-old woman residing at the address asked them to leave however it will be alleged the female offender pushed her over and spat on her. She was treated by QAS at the scene.

A 50-year-old man residing at the address also asked them to leave but it is further alleged he was assaulted by the man who punched him and further assaulted him while he was on the ground. He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a possible broken arm and jaw.

The man and woman then fled the scene but were located by police a short time later.

A 48-year-old Morningside man and a 47-year-old Morningside woman have been charged with one count each of enter with intent, grievous bodily harm, serious assault a person over 60 and robbery. They will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

All four people are known to each other.
