Burglary charges, Nerang

Gold Coast police have charged a 41-year-old man with multiple offences after investigating numerous break-and-enters in suburbs across south east Queensland.

Detectives yesterday executed a search warrant at an Ogilvie Crescent address where the man was taken into custody without incident.

It will be alleged between September 23 2020 and January 13 2021, the man forced entry to residences in suburbs including Coorparoo, Helensvale, Pacific Pines, Highland Park and Reedy Creek.

He allegedly stole items including a grey Mazda hatchback (located on November 11 in Burleigh Waters), along with multiple jewellery items worth approximately $80,000 and electronic items.

The man was charged with seven counts of burglary, two counts of failure to appear and one count each of enter dwelling with intent, unlawful use of motor vehicle, fail to take reasonable care and precaution in respect of syringe or needle. He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today (January 21).
