Burglary on Castlemaine butchers

Central Goldfields Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary at a Castlemaine butchers last month, Victoria Police say.

The burglary took place, when an unknown person forced open the front door of the Mostyn Street shop, on 27 January just after 4am.

Once inside the premises the burglar made his way to the rear of the shop and used a jemmy bar to steal a small business safe.

The burglar then left the shop via the front door carrying the safe with him and headed east on Mostyn Street.

Footage from CCTV cameras show the burglar was wearing a high visibility jacket with the words Bickfords Contracting inscribed on the back.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
