Two men are currently assisting police with inquiries following investigations into two incidents of burglary with violence last night, Queensland Police say.
Just after 11pm, police responded to reports of four armed men who had gained entry to an address in Drayton. Police attended however did not locate the men.
Around 11.30pm, officers were called to a residence in Newtown following reports of four armed men attempting to gain entry to the house. On failing to gain entry, one of the men discharged a firearm before they left in a sedan.
Officers suspected the men to be inside a unit in Leichardt and declared an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act at 5.30am today with an exclusion zone placed around Essington Mews, Ada Street and Bishop Street. One man was taken in to custody at the scene and is currently assisting police.
Police then declared an emergent situation in North Booval with an exclusion zone set around Dianne, Helen, David and Gledson Streets.
A man was taken into custody at the scene and is currently assisting police.
Investigations are continuing.
