Burglary with violence in Ashmore, QLD

Police are investigating an early morning burglary at an Ashmore residence in which two men forced their way into the home threatening the homeowner before stealing cash, Queensland Police say.

Around 4am a 48-year-old man answered a knock at the front door of the Cotlew Street home only to be confronted by two men who forced their way inside.

The homeowner was punched and kicked before being threatened with a knife. The men then searched the house, damaging property before fleeing with cash.

The men are described as Caucasian, with one being approximately 194cms tall with a skinny build, shaved head, tattoos on both arms and was wearing a grey hooded jumper.

The second man was described as 184cms tall with a stocky build and was wearing a green fluoro work shirt.

It is believed the men were driving a grey/silver Hilux possibly a dual cab, with a cage in the tray back (on the back against the cabin of the vehicle).

The homeowner sustained grazes and bruising to his face.
