Burglary with violence in Coolangatta, QLD

Police are investigating after a man sustained a gunshot wound during a violent burglary in Coolangatta early this morning., Queensland Police say

Around 2.05am, two men wearing balaclavas have attended a residence in Rutledge Street and forced entry to the home.

Once inside, an altercation has ensued with one of the occupants of the house, a 32-year-old man. During the altercation, the 32-year-old sustained a gunshot wound to his left thigh.

The two men have then taken a safe containing a sum of cash and a set of keys to an Audi from the residence before fleeing the scene in the Audi.

The vehicle is a black 2012 Audi Q3, bearing Queensland NV05.

The 32-year-old man was transported to the Tweed Heads Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
