Burglary with violence in Raceview, QLD

Police are investigating a violent burglary that occurred in a residence in Raceview overnight, Queensland Police say.

Around midnight three men have attended the residence in Ford Street and have forced entry through the front door of the house.

Once inside they have produced a firearm and have made demands for money from the two occupants of the house, a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman.

The 22-year-old man was assaulted by one of the men using the firearm to strike him around the head and shoulders. The men then searched the residence before leaving the scene.

The 22-year-old received a laceration to his head and had his shoulder dislocated. He was transported to hospital for treatment.

The 23-year-old woman was not physically injured.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
