
The Burns Point Ferry will be closed for annual maintenance works from Saturday 29 August 2026 for approximately two weeks.
The ferry crossing will be closed to customers from 12.30am Saturday 29 August 2026. Road users are advised to use the alternate route of the Pacific Highway and River Drive, Wardell.
During this period, mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs will be carried out along with safety upgrades.
The ferry's return to service will depend on progression through the works program and weather conditions.
If the ferry's return to service is delayed, Council will notify road users through local media, social media and Council's website.
Routine monthly maintenance is also planned for Tuesday 13 October from 9am – 1pm.
