Bus driver assault at Mount Gravatt East, QLD

Police are investigating the serious assault of a bus driver at Mount Gravatt East yesterday evening, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary investigations indicate around 6pm a young male and female boarded a bus at the intersection of Cavendish Road and Creek Road.

The teenage boy became involved in a verbal altercation with the male driver of the bus before head butting him, causing a serious facial injury.

The boy made a further attempt to assault the 67-year-old driver before fleeing the scene with his female companion along Cavendish Road.

The driver was transported to QEII Hospital with a facial wound and possible fracture.

Investigations are continuing.
