A property owner on Araluen Road hosting a bush doof this long weekend has been issued an Emergency Stop Use Order directing the event not be held.
Eurobodalla Council became aware of the event following complaints from nearby residents.
The property owner has been formally warned by the Council that failure to comply with the Order is an offence and legal action will be pursued if the event takes place.
NSW Police have been informed.
People attending the event will be required to drive on the Knowles Creek landslip detour, which has a 5-tonne load limit in place and is restricted to residents only.
Extra traffic and the expected rain ahead of the weekend creates potential for further damage to the road and more inconvenience for residents of the Araluen valley.
The Council is urging people not to attend the event - not only to preserve the road but out of respect for residents of the area enduring a difficult recovery from the Black Summer bushfires.
The property owner has run similar events previously without consent and been issued penalty infringement notices.
