Bushwalker Rescued - Southern Highlands 28 April

A bushwalker has been rescued following a multi-agency operation in the Southern Highlands.

About 1pm today (Tuesday 28 April 2026), emergency services were called to Starlight Trail, Hill Top, within the Nattai National Park, following reports a 39-year-old man was lost while bushwalking.

A command post was established and officers attached to Hume Police District responded.

Polair, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW SES, NSW Ambulance and Police Rescue were deployed.

About 7:45pm, Polair 2 located the man who was winched to safety.

He was assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he did not require treatment.
