New home offers permanent, respite, dementia and palliative care, helping older people in Adelaide's inner western suburbs remain close to family, friends and their community.
Estia Health's new residential aged care home in Findon was officially opened today by the Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Ageing, Minister for Disability and the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Federal Member for Hindmarsh.
Located at 46-52 Crittenden Road, the purpose-built home can accommodate 124 residents and is Estia Health's 20th home in South Australia.
Minister Butler said: "The opening of Estia Health Findon is a welcome investment for our community. "More aged care places in Findon will give locals the chance to receive high-quality care closer to home."
Estia Health Chief Executive Officer Sean Bilton said the home would support older people with a range of care needs while helping them maintain their local connections.
"Moving into aged care is a significant decision for residents and their families. They want confidence in the care they will receive and a home where they feel welcome, know the people around them and can continue to enjoy time with family and friends.
"That is what our team at Findon is here to provide, alongside care tailored to each resident's needs and preferences," Mr Bilton said.
The two-storey home has five self-contained care wings, each with dedicated dining areas, lounges, activity rooms and outdoor spaces. A dedicated Memory Support Unit has its own garden and courtyard. Residents also have access to landscaped gardens, a wellness centre, café, hairdressing salon, cinema and private dining room for occasions with family and friends.
Single and couple rooms have private ensuites, with selected rooms offering balconies, courtyards or garden terraces. Meals are prepared daily in the home's kitchen, with menus tailored to residents' nutritional needs and preferences.
Findon's Residential Aged Care Manager, Nithin Joseph, said: "It's a privilege to lead the team at Findon and support residents and their families at such an important time in their lives."
The home supports local employment across nursing, personal care, hospitality and operational roles.
