Georges River Council is inviting eligible community organisations to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the Read-Cycle Program, a new initiative by Georges River Libraries that redistributes pre-loved library resources to groups making a difference in the community.
The initiative aims to provide a wide range of library resources, including children's books, youth and adult fiction and non-fiction, and books in Chinese and Greek, free of charge to organisations that serve the Georges River community. The items are in good condition and ready to find a new home, and sharing them with other community organisations will allow the library to keep bringing in new stock onto its shelves.
Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "Read-Cycle is a fantastic way to extend the life of library resources while supporting the incredible work of our local service organisations.
"This is also a wonderful opportunity for community groups to access valuable resources that can support learning, connection and inclusion."
Applicants must be a not-for-profit, government, or a community service organisation serving the Georges River community in a non-commercial capacity. Applications will be assessed based on community need, intended use of the resources and available stock, with preference given to local organisations.
An online information session will be held on Friday 3 October, offering guidance on eligibility, the application process, and tips for a successful submission.
EOI submissions close on 9 November 2025.
