Call for information following significant Huonville burglary, TAS

Kingston CIB is calling for witnesses following a significant burglary and stealing in the Huonville area over the long weekend, Tasmania Police say.

Sometime over the Queen’s birthday long weekend (8-11June), a workshop on a rural property in Morrison’s Road, Huonville was unlawfully entered and a large amount of property worth around $30,000 was stolen.

A silver Toyota Hilux bearing registration plates F06ZC was also stolen from inside the shed.

This vehicle is fitted with a black steel bullbar with scrub bars around the front mudguards. The front right mudguard is painted in grey primer, and the passenger’s side has a green/yellow splash of paint which stands out against the grey. A white tool box is fitted to the tray and the vehicle has a builders rack.

On Monday 11 June 2018 a white Toyota Hilux dual cab, with a silver flat tray was seen in the area and may be connected to the burglary.

A large amount of specialist tools were stolen, including Mig welders, a plasma cutter, pipe bender, large compressor, trolley jack and a variety of Milwaukee battery powered drills, grinders and reciprocating saws. Additionally, two brand new hydraulic unit lift kits for tilt trays were stolen.

Anyone with information should contact Kingston CIB on 131444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
