Call for Witnesses - Pursuit - Darwin

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a pursuit which occurred yesterday afternoon.

Around 3:30pm police were travelling outbound on Tiger Brennan Drive when they were overtaken by a maroon Holden Caprice with NT registration CC59ZM. Police allege the vehicle was travelling in excess of 200 kilometres per hour, Northern Territory Police say.

Police attempted to apprehend the vehicle as it turned onto Amy Johnson Drive. The vehicle failed to stop and police commenced a pursuit.

The vehicle turned onto the Stuart Highway before conducting a U-turn outside the Aviation Museum and travelling back down Amy Johnson Drive at speed through heavy traffic.

The pursuit was terminated by police due to safety reasons. Police continue to search for the vehicle and driver.

Anyone who may have witnessed the pursuit, particularly anyone with dash cam footage, is asked to notify police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers.
