Calling on Hobsons Bay people to pitch your idea

Pitch Your Idea is back for 2019 and Council is hoping this year's round of budget submissions will be bigger than ever.

The annual initiative will help shape Council's 2020-21 Budget and the entire community is invited to get involved.

Mayor of Hobsons Bay Cr Jonathon Marsden said Council received a high number of submissions from individuals, local groups and organisations with many included in previous budgets. He hoped this year would be no different.

"The diversity we have seen in previous Pitch Your Ideas submissions has been incredible, from a feasibility study into a Wetland Centre, shared bike path maintenance stations, a community garden and upgrades to sporting facilities," said Cr Marsden.

"If you have an idea that you think will help the community across sustainability, arts, infrastructure, economic development, social inclusion or even sport, now is the time to let us know.

"We know Hobsons Bay is an enviable place to live, work and play and we want to make sure it continues to hold that mantle by promoting inclusiveness, sustainability and offering programs and services that cater to everyone.

"The time is now Hobsons Bay - get on board and pitch your idea!"

All submissions must meet Council's terms and conditions and guidelines which include alignment with one the four goals of the Council Plan. Those are: an inclusive and healthy community; a great place; a well designed, maintained and environmentally sustainable place; and a Council of excellence.
