Get ready for a bold, heartfelt public art trail that's guaranteed to make you stop, stare and feel all the feels this month.
More than 30 talented local artists have joined forces to create I Heart ART, a temporary public art experience delivered in partnership with Alan Baker Art Gallery and Narellan Town Centre.
The result? A love-filled explosion of colour, creativity and community spirit. Artists were invited to paint or decorate a one-metre-tall heart that celebrates the heart of community, with each artwork offering a personal take on what love means to them. From romantic love and family bonds to self love, furry friends, nature and lifelong passions, the collection proves there's more than one way to follow your heart.
The large heart artworks will be proudly displayed throughout the Narellan Town Centre Forecourt this month. Each piece will be accompanied by a plaque featuring the artist's name and a short statement, giving visitors the inside scoop on what makes each heart beat.
The public will also be encouraged to vote for their favourite artwork.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, encouraged residents and visitors alike to experience the striking public art trail.
"I Heart ART is a celebration of what and how our community expresses love, making it a very special exhibition," she said.
"I'm so proud to see local artists bring colour and heart to Narellan this February. This display proves that art comes straight from the heart!"
As part of the I Heart ART Trail, the Alan Baker Art Gallery will also be spreading the love with FREE art activities every Friday and Saturday, 11am-2pm, throughout February, at Narellan Town Centre, located adjacent to the Kmart entry. It's a chance for the whole community to get hands on, heart-led and creatively inspired.
Whether you're love-struck or just following your heart through the shops, I Heart ART is set to be a heartfelt highlight of the month.
