This February, Camden Council is celebrating Library Lovers Month and inviting the community to share the love by having their say on the future of local libraries.
As part of the review of Camden Council's current Library Strategy, library members and the wider community are encouraged to provide feedback throughout February to help inform our next strategy that reflects Camden's growing and diverse community.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said Library Lovers Month was the perfect opportunity for residents to reconnect with their local library and help shape its future.
"Our libraries play such an important role in bringing people together and supporting learning, creativity and connection across our community," Cr Fedeli said.
"As Camden continues to grow, it's important our Library Strategy grows with it and that starts with listening to our community."
Residents are invited to visit Camden, Narellan or Oran Park Library and take part in a range of in-library engagement activities, including leaving a note on the giant Love Tree to share what they love about their local library and how it can grow into the future.
Cr Fedeli encouraged everyone to get involved, regardless of how often they use library services.
"Whether you're a regular library visitor or haven't stepped inside for a while, your feedback is valued," she said.
"This is your opportunity to help shape libraries that continue to serve our community for years to come."
Council will also host pop-up consultation sessions at various community spaces and shopping precincts across the Local Government Area throughout February. Community members can have their say online, in-library or at a pop-up consultation near them.
