Campaspe Shire Council is pleased to announce the re-election of Cr Daniel Mackrell as Mayor at a Council meeting held this evening. Cr Tony Marwood was voted in as Deputy Mayor. Both appointments will run for a one-year term.
Cr Mackrell expressed gratitude to his fellow Councillors for their ongoing confidence in his leadership and acknowledged the contributions over the past year, particularly in the development of the Council Plan 2025-2029.
"I'm honoured to take on this role once again and deeply appreciate the trust placed in me.
"This is an exciting time for Campaspe as we look ahead to delivering on the Council Plan 2025–2029, which sets a clear vision for our community's future.
"After a long engagement process we are confident that the Council plan reflects what matters most to our residents and I look forward to working with my fellow Councillors to turn these priorities into action," he added.
Deputy Mayor Cr Marwood said he is eager to support the Mayor, Councillors and council officers in implementing the plan.
"The Council Plan 2025–2029 provides a roadmap for progress. I'm committed to ensuring we deliver on these goals and keep our community engaged every step of the way," said Cr Marwood.
Outgoing Deputy Mayor, Cr Jessica Mitchell congratulated the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, and thanked everyone who supported her throughout the past 12 months.
"Being Deputy Mayor in my first term has been an honour and I am so grateful to have had this experience.
"This result doesn't take away from the pride I feel in what we've achieved together, or from my ongoing commitment to this team in my role of Councillor. I will continue to support our new leadership with the same dedication and professionalism, whilst continuing to advocate on behalf of community to the best of my ability," she said.
