The gleeful man was overflowing with gratitude when we spoke with him.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!" he exclaimed.
"Thank you very much. I feel blessed. I never win anything, so you have no idea how I feel right now.
"Oh my god. It's amazing. It just means so much to me and my family. It'll really help my children and I.
"I received your text, which said to check my lottery tickets, and I just thought someone had to be joking.
"I went to the newsagency and I'm a regular so when I walked in, it's like they already knew it was me who had won!
"Then they checked my ticket, and it really was me! I couldn't believe it.
"I've been playing a long time, so I'm thrilled. Thank you very much!"
His winning 25-game QuickPick was purchased from Eaglevale Newsagency, Shop 6 Eagleville Marketplace, Cnr Eagle Vale Drive & Gould Road, Eagle Vale.
Eaglevale Newsagency owner Allan Xian said he was thrilled to hear one of his regulars took home a division one win.
"It's another exciting moment for someone and their family and we couldn't be happier!" he said.
"In the last five years, we've sold three division one winning tickets and two division two winning tickets.
"I'll post the good news on our Facebook page and local notice board, so the local community can join me to celebrate the joy with the division one winner.
"It's wonderful news for us and the customer! We always smile at all our customers and love to see all our customers smiling too."
