Canada, Japan Security Advisors Discuss Regional Issues

On December 15, Ms. Nathalie G. Drouin, Deputy Clerk of the Privy Council and National Security and Intelligence Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada, held a phone call with Japan's National Security Advisor, Ichikawa Keiichi.

The officials discussed Indo-Pacific and Southeast Asian security and exchanged perspectives on key priorities.

Both parties reaffirmed their joint commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific and pledged to maintain close cooperation supporting regional stability.

Ms. Drouin and Mr. Ichikawa agreed to deepen Japan-Canada security cooperation, specifically in economic security and supply chain resilience.
