Today, the Honourable Joël Lightbound, Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement and Quebec Lieutenant, issued the following statement:
"Today, I am announcing the launch of an open, competency-based selection process for the position of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canada Post Corporation.
Canada Post is at a pivotal moment. Following the successful negotiation of a new agreement with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and the measures I announced in September 2025, the corporation has found much needed stability. These steps provide a foundation for Canada Post to adapt, innovate, and build an institution that continues to deliver the services Canadians rely on, while responding to the changing ways Canadians connect.
