Canadian talent is recognized around the world for its uniqueness and creativity. Through the voices of our artists, our culture travels far beyond our borders, carrying our stories, languages and values in music that reflects who we are as a nation and resonates with millions around the world, making Canada the world's fourth-biggest music exporter.
As CBC/Radio-Canada has announced the process to select the first-ever artist to represent our country at Eurovision, the world's biggest live music competition, I invite all Canadians to take part-from submitting their entry to the competition to voting for their favorite Canadian artist finalist later this fall.
From Halifax to Vancouver, and from Yellowknife to every corner of our country, Canadian music carries the uniqueness and diversity of our land, languages, cultures, people and stories. Canada's participation in Eurovision is a unique opportunity to showcase who we are, with pride and confidence, on the world stage.
