Cannabis crop found at Carey Gully

An elaborate cannabis crop was found by police at a Carey Gully property yesterday.

Acting on information from the public, Hills Fleurieu CIB detectives and patrols attended a Carey Gully address about 11am on Thursday 23 April.

Officers found grow rooms containing 18 cannabis plants, a large amount of dried cannabis and prescribed equipment.

A 34-year-old Carey Gully man, who police wanted to speak to in relation to the cannabis and other outstanding matters, drove past the property and was intercepted by police.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis, trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, possessing prescribed equipment and theft of electricity.

He was bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court on 19 August.
