Cannabis Crop found in Hewett

Police have found a large amount of cannabis plants in Hewett, and are appealing for further information to help find those responsible for the crop.

At 9am on Monday 9 July, Barossa Detectives conducted a search of a house on River View Drive, Hewett. No occupants were at the house at the time and it is believed the house was being used solely to grow cannabis, due to the significant electrical modifications that had been made.

Inside the house, detectives seized more than 200 cannabis plants in different stages of maturity growing in seven different rooms within the house. Along with the cannabis, police seized lights, transformers and carbon filters all used for the cultivation of the cannabis.

Investigations continue into who is responsible for the elaborate set-up, and anyone with information that can assist police is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
