Car and pedestrian incident, Main Beach

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash involving a car and two pedestrians at Main Beach this afternoon.

At about 4pm, a man and boy were walking across Waterway Drive when an oncoming car has collided with them.

A 40-year-old man sustained abrasions to his fingers and lower back and legs.

A 6-year-old boy sustained facial fractures.

Both were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital and are receiving treatment.

The driver, a 41-year-old man was not injured.

Investigations are continuing.
