Car crashes after police pursuit at Glengowrie, SA

Two men have been taken to hospital with minor injuries after a car crashed during a police pursuit at Glengowrie this morning, according to SA Police.

Just after 5am, a police patrol spotted a black 1995 Holden Commodore travelling north on Morphett Road at Warradale without the headlights on.

The patrol attempted to stop the car, but the driver allegedly refused and it was followed on Morphett Road across Oaklands Road into Glengowrie.

Just near the Morphett Arms Hotel, the black Commodore spun-out and crashed into a fence about 50 metres south of Cliff Street.

Two men in their 20's from the Commodore were treated at the scene by ambulance officers and then taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with minor injuries.

Sturt Police patrols are currently making enquiries as to whether the Commodore was recently stolen.

North bound traffic on Morphett Road at Glengowrie is currently down to one lane, the scene should be cleared within the next hour.

Both men will be interviewed over the incident at a later date.
