Car crashes into Georges Hall home, NSW

A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a house in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Just after 12.30am today (Monday 11 June 2018), emergency services were called to Carnavon Crescent, Georges Hall, following reports a car had crashed into the bottom level of a home.

The car and part of house caught fire, with NSW Fire & Rescue attending and extinguishing the blaze.

No one inside the home was injured.

The driver, a 21-year-old man, attempted to flee the scene but was held by neighbours until police arrived.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command arrested the man at the scene, before taking him to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and police have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
