Police investigating a suspected hit-and-run fatality south-west of Richmond have seized a car overnight.
Emergency services were called to Springwood Road at Yarramundi, after the body of a man was found on the roadside about 11.30pm Monday (11 August 2025).
Initial inquiries indicate the man died after being hit by a vehicle that failed to stop.
Officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU), took over inquiries and established Strike Force Yetmore to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
An appeal for information was made yesterday (Tuesday 12 August 2025), and, about 7.30pm, a member of the public alerted police to a damaged vehicle seen abandoned in Glenbrook.
A crime scene was established, and a black 2005-model Ford Fiesta – with damage to the front and windscreen – was towed for further examination. It has not been reported stolen.
Investigators now wish to speak with a 39-year-old man who they believe can assist with inquiries.
Inquiries are continuing and investigators have renewed their appeal for anyone with relevant dashcam vision to contact Crash Investigators via Crime Stoppers.
