Car slammed into Geelong home leaving baby fighting for life

A four and half month old baby girl is in a critical condition after a crash involving a car losing control on a roundabout near Breakwater, Victoria.

The baby received life treating head injuries and was initially taken to Geelong Hospital, but was later flown to the Royal Children's Hospital due to her critical condition.

Victorian Police said the accident happened when the 20-year old male driver failed to negotiate a roundabout on the corner of Fellmongers Road and Boundary Road and crashed through a residential fence and into the bedroom of a house.

The Grovedale man was taken to Geelong Hospital and is now under police guard.

The four-month-old’s parents, both in their 20s, were inside the room as well and were taken to Geelong Hospital with minor injuries.
