Cars damaged at Devonport Airport carpark, TAS

Police are investigating reports of damage to multiple vehicles at the Devonport airport carpark overnight, Tasmania Police say.

CCTV footage from the carpark is currently under review by police.

Investigating officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have observed any suspicious activity around the airport between 9pm on Tuesday 14th March and 3.30am this morning.

"Between late yesterday evening and in the early hours of this morning, offenders have caused damage to a number of vehicles parked within the car park.  The damage mostly consisted of door locks being forced and windows being smashed.

"Offenders have also gained entry to some of the damaged vehicles and searched through the contents.  It is unknown if anything has been stolen at this time and investigations are continuing," said Detective Acting Sergeant Michelle Elmer.

Anyone who believes they have information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Devonport Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers.
