Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Cassell as the Victorian men's Senior Coaching Assistant ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Cassell is no stranger to Victorian cricket, having been a State contracted player for six years, while also representing the Melbourne Cricket Club in Premier Cricket.
The 42-year-old returns bringing a wealth of coaching experience both domestically and internationally. Over the past three seasons, he has been a key part of Tasmania's coaching setup, playing a pivotal role in the development of their fast-bowling stocks.
Cassell's coaching journey has also included influential stints with Cricket Ireland, SA Cricket and in the Indian Premier League with the Rajasthan Royals. Cricket Victoria's GM of High Performance, Graham Manou said:
"We're thrilled to welcome Rob back to Victoria. His depth of knowledge, experience and passion for bowling development will be a tremendous asset to what we're building here."
"Rob's worked in a variety of programs around the world, and we're excited about the impact he'll have with our group, particularly with the likes of Will Sutherland, Fergus O'Neill, Sam Elliott, Mitch Perry and the next generation of Victorian bowlers coming through our system."
Cassell said he was excited to be returning to navy blue ranks:
"It's a real privilege to return to Victoria and be part of a program I've always had a strong connection to. I'm looking forward to working closely with the bowlers and contributing to the team's continued growth and success."
Cassell will begin his role on June 2 as the squad prepares for the upcoming pre-season.
