CCTV appeal for suspicious fire in Glebe

Police have released CCTV and are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a suspicious fire in Glebe last month.

Just after 12.30am on Wednesday 29 September 2021, emergency services were called to a café on Glebe Point Road following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze, with the café sustaining minor damage.

Four residential units above the café had to be evacuated, with no reported injuries

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command have since commenced an investigation into the incident.

As investigations continue, police have released CCTV footage of a person on Glebe Point road, Glebe, around the time of the incident, who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The person depicted is described as being of medium build, with dark coloured hair in a low bun, and is shown wearing a black baseball cap with a white/light blue surgical mask, a hooded jumper with broad horizontal light grey stripes and dark grey pants, pulling a two-wheel shopping trolley and black bag.
