CCTV footage released following armed robbery in Fairfield

Police have released CCTV footage and are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery at a service station in Sydney’s west this week, NSW Police say.

About 7.40pm on Tuesday 19 April 2016, a 29-year-old employee was assisting a man at a service station on Sackville Street, Fairfield.

Police have been told the man produced a window cleaning tool and threatened the employee, demanding cash and cigarettes.

The man armed with the item forced his way behind the counter. He left the scene with cash and cigarettes.

No one was injured.

Officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command were notified and are conducting inquiries into the incident.

Investigators have released CCTV vision of a man they would like to speak to as someone who is likely to assist with inquiries.

The depicted man is described as being of a thin build, aged in his early 20s, and is shown wearing a black hooded-jumper and black track pants.
