CCTV images released after sporting goods worth about $14,000 stolen in Sydney City

Police have released CCTV images of two men who may be able to assist with investigations after more than 100 items – worth about $14,000 – were stolen from a sports store in Sydney on New Year's Day.

Between 7pm and 7.45pm on Saturday 1 January 2022, a man twice forced entry into a sporting goods store on Clarence Street in Sydney's CBD, taking a laptop and a pair of sunglasses.

A short time later, the same man returned with another man and stole sunglasses, socks, compression garments, hats, headphones, and shoes about 8.15pm (Saturday 1 January 2022), before leaving the scene.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were notified of the incident and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police have released images of two men who may be able to assist with their investigations.

The first man is depicted as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of thin build, aged between 30 to 35, with short brown hair. He is seen wearing a black and blue jacket, black 'Quiksilver' shirt with an orange logo, black pants and white 'New Balance' shoes. He is carrying a black bag.

The second man is depicted wearing a hooded jumper and tracksuit pants, with a face mask.
