CCTV issued after armed robbery at Bankstown

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was robbed in Bankstown last week.

About 8.25am on Thursday 17 February 2022, a 40-year-old woman was approached by an unknown male in the carpark of a shopping centre on North Terrace, Bankstown, who demanded she handover her bag.

The woman left the scene and entered her vehicle parked nearby, when the man followed and entered the passenger seat of the vehicle, before producing a knife and stealing her bag, wallet and cash.

The incident was reported to police with officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command commencing an investigation.

As inquiries continue, detectives have released CCTV and images of a male they would like to speak to.

He is described as being 170cm tall, with a dark beard, long blonde/brown hair, and has a distinctive walk with a limp to his left leg.

The man is depicted in the footage as wearing a dark 'Gant' cap, a black and blue 'Nike' hooded jacket with a high-vis top underneath, dark 'Adidas' pants with three stripes down one side, work boots and a black face mask.

The man's hair was plaited, and he was carrying an 'Aldi' shopping bag.

He was last seen running south on Stacey Street, Bankstown.
