CCTV released after armed robbery in Port Melbourne

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are releasing CCTV footage as part of their investigation into an armed robbery in Port Melbourne earlier this month.

An unknown male offender has attended a Bay Street business about 6pm on Tuesday 4 May.

Investigators have been told a man entered the business with a knife and made demands for money.

A staff member handed over cash and the man fled the business, running along Lyon Street, Maisie Lane and Esplanade Place.

Investigators have released CCTV footage as part of their efforts to identify a man they believe could assist with enquiries.

The man was wearing a black face mask or cloth over his face.

He is perceived to be Caucasian, about 165cm tall with a skinny build and was wearing a black hooded jumper, black pants and white and black runners.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
