CCTV released after robbery in Darlinghurst

Police have released a CCTV image and are appealing for public assistance after a robbery in Darlinghurst yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 4.40pm today, a 42-year-old man met another man on Flinders Street, after arranging to purchase bicycle wheels.

The man was allegedly assaulted as he walked away, causing him to fall to the ground. The assault continued and the man was robbed of cash.

Emergency services were notified and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the man for serious facial injuries. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Surry Hills Local Area Command attended and launched an investigation.

Detectives have now released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as being Caucasian appearance, of a large build, and with brown hair. He is wearing a blue t-shirt, dark pants, and white sneakers.

At the time he and a large spike earring in one ear and a round stretching earring in the other, and was carrying bicycle wheels.

Detectives are also appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact Surry Hills Police or Crime Stoppers.
