CCTV released in carjacking investigation - Eagle Vale

Police are appealing for public assistance and have now released CCTV following a carjacking in Sydney's south west last year.

About 1.30am on Sunday 20 December 2020, a 32-year-old man was driving his Hyundai Getz into a fast food outlet drive-thru on Gould Road, Eagle Vale, when he was approached by a man armed with a handgun.

The man forced the driver out of the vehicle and drove away from the scene towards Dolomite Place.

The driver alerted nearby staff from the restaurant and police were contacted. He was not injured.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Later that morning about 2.50am, the Hyundai Getz was located at Eagle Farm Reserve, Eagle Vale. The car was seized for forensic examination.

Detectives have now released CCTV of a man who they believe could assist with their inquiries.

The man is depicted as being of a Caucasian appearance, slim build, dressed in all black, wearing ski goggles and a black face covering.
