CCTV Released in Investigation of Stanmore Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

Police investigating a hit and run in Sydney's Inner West have released CCTV in an appeal for public assistance.

Just after 4.30am on Sunday 28 May 2023, emergency services were called to the intersection of Parramatta and Bridge roads at Stanmore, following reports of a crash involving a stolen BMW sedan and a pedestrian.

On arrival, officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command located a 31-year-old man suffering serious injuries to his face and torso.

He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established, with officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist investigators.

He has been described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, of slim build, with black hair and brown eyes.

The man is depicted in the vision wearing a black shirt, black shorts and a face mask.
