Financial Crimes Squad's Arson Unit detectives have released CCTV as they appeal for public information into an arson attack at a supermarket in Sydney's south west last month.
About 3.17am on Saturday 16 August 2025, emergency services were called to a supermarket on Meadows Road, Mount Pritchard, following reports of a fire.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended alongside Fire and Rescue NSW, who extinguished the blaze.
No injuries were reported, however; the supermarket sustained extensive damage.
A crime scene was established and detectives attached to State Crime Command's Financial Crimes Squad's Arson Unit commenced an investigation into the incident under Strike Force Barbalin.
Initial inquiries revealed an accelerant was poured inside the premises before it was set alight.
The supermarket has been the target of alleged arson attacks on three other occasions since April this year.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for information about two vehicles that were seen in the vicinity of the supermarket around the time of the incident.
The first vehicle is described as a blue Toyota ute, which is believed to have been stolen from Cabramatta in the hours before the incident.
The ute was later located by police at Carramar on Friday 22 August 2025. It was seized for forensic examination.
The second vehicle is described as a silver Toyota Prado with distinguishing features including a bull bar, light bar and spotlights.
Anyone with information about the movements of the vehicles before and after the incident, including dashcam or CCTV, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
