Cedar Party Creek Bridge To Open In Early November

MidCoast Council

The detour for Wingham's Cedar Party Creek Bridge will be closed for two nights on Friday and Saturday 7 and 8 November.

The closure will be between 6pm and 6am and will allow for the finishing touches to be made on the new build.

During this time access to Wingham will be possible only via Shorts Road and Gloucester Road.
Excitingly, following the first night of closure, the bridge will be accessible to traffic from 6am Saturday morning before again being closed along with the detour for the final night of works from 6pm.

The bridge will be reopened to traffic at 6am Sunday morning and remain open.

MidCoast Council Mayor, Claire Pontin said while it was exciting construction work was coming to an end it was unfortunate but necessary for the closures to take place.
"Crews need that time to be able to finish off the very impressive build," she explained.
"So please make sure you make other travel arrangements during these two nights."
After plenty of challenging weather, the project has been able to make the most of the recent conditions with work accelerating towards completion.
The new design of the bridge raises it above the one-in-one-hundred-year flood levels and provides an easier approach into the town.
The $39 million project is supported by a $28 million grant from the NSW Government's Fixing Country Bridges Program, and a $5 million grant from the Australian's Government Bridge Renewal Program and $6m from MidCoast Council.
