A man has been charged with drink driving after allegedly being found behind the wheel of a cement truck while almost four times the legal limit in the state's mid-west at the weekend.

Just after 5pm on Saturday (7 December 2019), police were contacted following reports a man – who appeared to be well-affected by alcohol – was driving a cement truck around Mudgee.

Officers from Orana Mid Western Police District responded and approached the truck as it was being parked by a male driver on Horatio Street, Mudgee.

The man was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Mudgee Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.196.

The 40-year-old Wentworth Point man was charged by way of a Future Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA, and his licence was suspended.

He is due to appear at Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday 18 December 2019.
