NT Government

Brand new campsites and swimming areas will officially open in Litchfield National Park this weekend.

The first campground in the northern section of the Territory Labor Government's highly-anticipated Central Valley development will offer 10 new campsites for visitors to enjoy from Saturday 14 August.

The area will allow campers direct access to swim in and enjoy spring-fed creeks.

The campground also includes drop toilets, an information shelter, and will be accessible for four-wheel-drive vehicles only

The completed works make up stage 3 of the $17.5 million Turbo Charging Tourism project.

Once all construction is complete, Central Valley will add 32 new campsites across three separate campgrounds to Litchfield National Park.

The project has created more than 96 jobs during construction so far.
