Quotes attributable to Melton Crime Investigation Unit Volume Crime Reduction Team Detective Acting Sergeant Sean Armstrong:

"The fact that these thieves have targeted an emergency services building is disgraceful," he said.

"Summer has to be the busiest time of the year for the CFA so this is an extremely low act.

"We urge anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of the fire station early this morning to come forward and speak to investigators."
