CFMEU condemn behaviour at Shrine of Remembrance

The CFMEU has a long proud history of working with and supporting the veteran community.

The obscene behaviour at the Shrine this week was disgusting and an insult to all veterans and to the memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of Australia.

We condemn the behaviour of all involved in the vile occupation and desecration of the Shrine of Remembrance.

The CFMEU works with many organisations to provide veterans work opportunities in the construction industry and will continue to do so proudly.

Mr Bob Elworthy, President Vietnam Veterans Association Australia (Vic. Branch) echoed disappointment and distain for those who invaded Victoria’s war memorial and place of remembrance for their own cause.
