ANZ today announced Anshul Sidher has stepped down from the role of Managing Director, Markets, effective from today to pursue other opportunities.
Mr Sidher joined ANZ 13 years ago, where he led the Global Trading team, before he was appointed to lead ANZ's global Markets business in August 2023.
ANZ Group Executive, Institutional, Mark Whelan, said: "I want to thank Anshul for his contribution to ANZ over the past 13 years. During this time ANZ's Markets business has grown to help customers navigate dynamic conditions across local and global markets.
"I wish Anshul well as he moves on to new opportunities," Mr Whelan said.
Current ANZ Global Head of Balance Sheet Trading, Michael Peric, and Head of Markets, Australia, Trevor Vail, will jointly lead ANZ's Markets business while a global search for a new Managing Director, Markets takes place.
Mr Peric has held senior banking positions in key financial institutions across Australia and New Zealand including at Lloyds, National Australia Bank, and Bank of New Zealand. He will be based in Sydney where he will continue to oversee ANZ's Balance Sheet trading business.
Mr Vail has held a range of leadership roles during his time at ANZ, including Co-Head of Global Fixed Income Trading and Head of Markets for Singapore. He will be based in Singapore and oversee franchise Global Sales and Trading.
Both Mr Peric and Mr Vail will join ANZ's Institutional Leadership Team, reporting to Mr Whelan.
Mr Whelan added: "Michael and Trevor bring a strong foundation of knowledge and leadership to this role, and together they will provide continuity and stabilty for our Markets business during this period of transition."
