Charge - Dangerous Riding - Tiger Brennan Drive

Northern Territory Police have charged a 24-year-old male for dangerous riding.

At approximately 12:30am on Saturday morning, Darwin Traffic Operations apprehended a 24-year-old male riding a motorcycle traveling outbound on Tiger Brennan Drive.

The male rider was travelling at a speed of 191km/h in a 100km zone.

A notice to appear was issued and he will appear in Darwin Local Court on 28 February 2020.

Acting Commander Neil Hayes from the Road Policing Command said "The message is obviously not getting through to those using our roads irresponsibility. Police also apprehended a number of drink drivers over the weekend.

It's unfortunate to see people being so reckless with their lives and not thinking of the consequences they have on those around them. This includes emergency workers who attend the scenes of horrific crashes, such as this could have been.

Despite the festive season being over, Police remain focused on targeting the fatal five. Friday 24 January 2020 marks road safety's National Day of Action, were Police across the nation will be heavily focusing on drink and drug driving. You can expect to be breath tested."
